A concept to remotely play with your pets with a laser pointer and camera and pointing servos over the internet, and let your friends do it too. I would like to see this come to fruition.

A t-shirt I spotted at Kohl's (a generic everything's-on-sale-but-not-really department store). It looks like the kind of shirt you buy in the parking lot before the concert: weird colors, blurry art, rearranged typography, etc. It's a genuine licensed product-- now Metallica's merch tentacles have even absorbed the bootleg trade. All bases covered. As in John Carpenter's 'The Thing,' these are indistinguishable from the original once assimilation is complete. It was this shirt and Ride the Lightning-- the band seems cognizant of the lack of regard in which their later efforts are held.

A question comes to mind: would someone who shops at this soft-cornered, family-friendly department store really be into early Metallica, or is it just a hollow fashion statement? (I was there because I got a $10 off coupon and basically gamed it for free stuff. <3 )
